We’re always trying to improve and love getting feedback on our products, and one of the best ways to do this is to speak to our customers. Moreover, we are all too aware that our taps are only as good as what the people using them think they are. That’s why we thought we’d interview a customer so you can get a first-hand account of how having a Kranen Tap can change your life!
After Nicola kindly sent us a photo of her tap, we contacted her, and she agreed to answer a few questions. Our Owner, Mick, managed to speak to Nicola last week and here’s how it went:

Easy to Install
Q: You’ve had your Kranen tap for over a month now, Nicola. How did the installation go?
A: As it is a life-changing purchase, we did lots of research before buying our instant boiling water tap, which meant we knew what to expect. Moreover, my husband is an electrician, so he had a good idea of what he was doing. Fortunately, everything went to plan and about 50 minutes after delivery, we had the tap up and running. So, installing our new 3-in-1 boiling water tap was not much of a problem.
Q: Do you have any installation advice for anyone who isn’t an experienced DIY’er?
A: My husband is quite handy, so he found it pretty easy to install, but, in his words, ‘if in doubt, ask someone who knows what they’re doing!’. That's why I suggest anyone unsure about installing their instant boiling water tap call a plumber. You don't want the installation to go wrong!
A Tea Drinker's Dream
Q: What was the first thing you did with your new tap?
A: We’re both big tea drinkers, so we had to make a cuppa to see what it would be like. At first, we wondered whether it would be hot enough, but we were pleasantly surprised with our first brew from our new boiling water tap!
Q: Do you think the instant hot water feature has encouraged you to make more hot drinks?
A: Definitely. Before we got our instant hot water tap, I was a ‘one in the morning, one in the evening’ type of person, but now I find myself drinking at least 3 cups in an evening when I’m back from work!
Cleaning Made Easy
Q: We hope it is Yorkshire Tea! Have you used the instant hot water tap for cooking yet?
A: Sorry to disappoint you, but I’m more of a Tetley person! Yes, I use the instant hot water tap for cooking most days, to be honest. We often have pasta, rice, or potatoes, so we use it to cook most meals.
Q: We won’t hold it against you Nicola! Great! Have you used the instant hot water feature for anything else?
A: We have an air fryer and often use boiling water to soak the air fryer compartments before we put them in the dishwasher. Doing this helps clean any sticky parts and reduces stress on the dishwasher. We also use the hot boiling water tap on frying pans and any dishes that are harder to clean. Doing that helps rinse them quickly. It might sound odd to many people, but every week, I’ll pour some hot water down the drain as I read that this can help to kill bacteria down the drain.
Q: Thanks for those great tips! We hadn’t thought of using one of our taps that way. It does make sense. Has the tap's instant boiling water function improved anything else in your daily routine?
A: Well, I have put my kettle in the attic now, and I think it would be a pain to return to boiling water that way. It’s not quite ‘life-changing’ but it makes life easier. Cooking can be stressful, and not having to factor in the kettle boiling time makes it much simpler. Like I said, we’re big tea drinkers too. Funnily enough, my husband and I used to have a Mexican stand-off about whose turn it was to make a brew, but now we both want to be the one to use the instant boiling water tap!
No Looking Back Once You Get An Instant Boiling Tap
Q: Amazing! Have you found any negatives to using the tap?
A: No. My elderly Mum didn’t like it at first because she was so used to a kettle but now loves it and has asked for one for Christmas! Now, I only have the job of trying to convince my husband to fit it for her as well, ha-ha!
Q: Wonderful! Thank you for all your answers, Nicola. The final question for you – is there anything you’d improve about our service?
A: The only thing I can think of is making a video on how to use the tap available to those who are new to this game. It was easy for me and my husband, but it took a couple of attempts for my mum to work it out! Luckily, we were there to show her, but if other older people purchase the tap, they may not have that luxury.
